WHY NICK PETTI?

With a masters in social work from Boston University and decades of experience in the field as a licensed social worker, Nick Petti brings unique insights into the challenges faced by people from all walks of life. Nick has worked for Family Hospice for 20 years after working for the Department of Veterans Affairs. He believes that by creating an age-friendly community, we can ensure that everyone, including seniors, has the support they need to participate fully in social, cultural, and recreational activities.

Nick and his therapy dog, Stella, volunteer at the Mt. Lebanon Library through the Tail Waggers program, where children have the opportunity to read to therapy dogs. Beyond this, Nick and Stella also visit and bring comfort to elderly members of the community. In addition to training therapy dogs, Nick has coached youth baseball and soccer and served as a poll worker during Mt. Lebanon elections.

Nick and his wife, Bridget, have called Mt. Lebanon our home for 24 years and we have raised our two children here who attended Howe Elementary, Mellon Middle, and Mt. Lebanon High School.

Nick and Bridget chose Mt Lebanon because of the friendly neighborhoods, the exceptional schools, the many parks and the vibrant business districts. Mt. Lebanon feels to Nick more like a neighborhood than a town because it is made up of people who care about our neighbors, our schools, and local businesses.

“I love living in such a caring place where we help look out for each other, such as shoveling the driveway for a senior or taking the time to chat with neighbors. “

Nick’s dedication to service, both professionally and personally, reflects his strong commitment to enhancing the well-being of our community members across all generations.
